Hiking to the summit of Zas in Naxos - the highest mountain in the Cyclades at 1,004 meters - with your other half, your friends or family, is an exciting adventure of medium difficulty. You need to be at least two people to book this excursion and there can be up to ten people in the group you join.
Throughout the trek, you will explore geological formations and discuss mythology, geography, history, and nature. Your knowledgeable environmental teacher and guide will tell you all about the captivating history of this unique island as you complete your trek. The hike takes place in the morning when the sun is low and the hike is easy enough that those aged 6 and above can take part.
It takes about 1 hour to reach the summit and an equal time to descend back to the starting point. You will also spend some time at the summit and before you leave. A total of 3 hours. At the top of Zas Mountain, you will enjoy an amazing breathtaking 360-degree view of all the Cyclades Islands.

Natasha is an environmental educator with a degree in Environmental Sciences and a Master's in Environmental Education. Starting her career at 15, she has worked in tropical, arctic, and Mediterranean climates, creating programs for Cycladic associations, NGOs, and social cooperatives, and designing Erasmus+ projects for youth and adult education.
She has trained in sustainability, nature connection, permaculture, nutrition, ecosystem design, nature guiding, travel guiding, community building, and social economy. Now living in Naxos, she draws inspiration from the Cycladic ecosystem, with a mission to restore our connection with nature.
