An experience of the most important worship places of the two Christian denominations (Orthodox and Catholic) that have coexisted on the island for centuries, in absolute harmony.
This tour starts at Chora where you visit the famous church of the Virgin Mary and learn its history. It is one of the most important Christian institutions in Greece, with thousands of visitors all year round from all over Greece.
Then you visit the Monastery of the Assumption of Virgin Mary (Monastery of Agia Pelagia) which was built in the 11th century. The monastery is built like a fortress, and its interior looks like a small village. It hosts a small community of Orthodox nuns.
Afterward, you visit the Ursulines Monastery which nowadays houses a folklore museum. The monastery was founded in 1864 by the Catholic Order of Ursulines and for about 100 years it operated as a monastery and also as a girls' boarding school which was renowned throughout Europe. Its rooms have been left intact and the exhibits take the visitor on a time travel to the past.
Finally, you visit the village of Komi and specifically the Catholic church of Agios Ioannis. A majestic church among the catholic villages of Tinos.
