After a warm welcome with some chilled wine and homemade pie, you will meet our Greek farm animals such as goats and pigs and meet the farm owners. You will cook tzatziki, your own bread and a tasty desert, and learn how they used to make cheese in the past by visiting a local museum.
The educational visit to the vegetable garden and the vineyard, is followed by a detailed presentation of some specific trees that exist in the garden. Next, you will have the chance to learn about cheesemaking and try making your own cheese too. Naxos is famous throughout Greece for its cheeses and the tradition is well kept by small dairy farms like this throughout the island. Discuss with the locals and get to know the rural life.
This experience ends with a tour in a traditional "mitato", a little stone house usually built next to the farm, full of old tools and traditional vintage items. You will enjoy a rich breakfast with eggs, sausages and a traditional fresh pie so don't come with a full stomach!
